Part-Time DSP/Caregiver Position - South Abington, PA

Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver – South Abington, PA
Direct Support Professional (DSP) – $19.50–$25/hr

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support a young non-verbal client residing in South Abington, PA. He lives at home with his mother, is very shy, and enjoys calm, predictable routines. He loves Mickey Mouse, watching cartoons and movies, spending time at the park, and being around his small dog. Mom does not have a gender preference for caregivers.

This role focuses on daily living support, safety supervision, and community engagement. The ideal DSP will be patient, gentle, and experienced with behaviors and medication awareness.

What You’ll Do

As a DSP, you will provide hands-on support that helps him stay safe, engaged, and comfortable throughout his day. Responsibilities include:

• Provide prompts and assistance with daily activities
• Support toileting and cleaning routines
• Offer reminders for handwashing and hygiene
• Maintain 24/7-level supervision during scheduled hours for safety
• Engage him in preferred activities such as cartoons, movies, and park outings
• Encourage community participation and social opportunities
• Support communication through non-verbal cues
• Ensure awareness of medical needs and safety considerations
• Communicate with family and Abound team members
• Complete documentation and participate in ongoing training

Schedule Details

This referral requires services once a week:

Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Experience with behaviors required
• Experience with medication awareness required
• Ability to support toileting, hygiene, and daily living routines
• Comfortable with dogs

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required — we provide paid training and support.

Pay

Starting Pay: $19.50–$25 per hour
(Compensation varies based on experience and service type)
