What Your Day Looks Like (LPN Responsibilities)

As Direct Support Professional at Abound Health, you will apply your nursing skills in a supportive community setting while gaining experience that strengthens your clinical career:

Community Integration and Client Empowerment

• Build trusting, positive relationships and align individual needs with their goals.

• Act as a passionate advocate, empowering individuals to advocate for themselves.

• Identify opportunities for greater independence in work-related tasks.

Patient Care & Nursing Support

• Provide direct nursing care, including monitoring vital signs, mobility assistance, and personal care.

• Administer medications accurately in accordance with NJ state regulations.

• Perform basic nursing procedures such as injections and tube feedings (if applicable).

Care Coordination & Advocacy

• Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Support Plans (ISPs).

• Advocate for individuals and collaborate with families, care teams, and community resources.

Clinical Documentation

• Complete timely, accurate documentation of care, treatments, and medication administration—an essential skill in every nursing role.

Behavioral & Safety Support

• Implement positive behavior support strategies.

• Utilize de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe, supportive environment.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

• A passion for supporting individuals with I/DD.

• Strong communication, professionalism, and time-management skills.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Ability to pass background checks per NJ regulations.
