Caregiver Support Needed for Female Client

Location: Mercer, PA

About: A vibrant individual with a fighting spirit who has overcome many adversities in her life. She is known for her good sense of humor, social nature, and cooperative attitude. She enjoys music, swimming, horseback riding, and spending time with her family and friends. She lives at home with her mother, father, and three beloved dogs.

Care Requirements: She has profound intellectual disabilities and cerebral palsy, requiring full physical assistance for all daily living activities. She uses a wheelchair for mobility and has a Mini-One button for feeding when necessary. She also has a seizure disorder, which varies in severity and requires careful monitoring

Responsibilities:

• Physical Assistance: Help her with transfers, ambulation, and all personal care activities, including dressing, bathing, and grooming.
• Medical Support: Administer medications, monitor for seizures, and assist with catheterization up to three times daily.
• Social Interaction: Engage her in social activities, ensuring she has opportunities to interact with others and participate in community outings.
• Therapeutic Activities: Assist her with swimming, horseback riding, and other therapeutic exercises as tolerated.
• Routine Maintenance: Follow a daily schedule to ensure her health and safety, including regular changes in her wheelchair tilt and position to prevent pressure sores

Qualifications:

• Experience in caregiving, especially with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.
• Ability to provide full physical assistance and handle medical needs.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively with her family and other support staff.

Schedule:

• In-Home Support: 24-hour supervision with varying shifts.
• Community Support: Assistance during community outings and appointments.
• Therapeutic Activities: Support during swimming and horseback riding sessions
