Job Coach – Community Employment Support

Johnstown, PA | $22/hr | Flexible, Client-Based Scheduling

Abound Health is hiring dependable, punctual, and motivated Job Coaches to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they work in community employment settings throughout the Johnstown area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others build confidence, independence, and real-world job skills.

Role Overview

Job Coaches work directly alongside clients at their place of employment, helping them learn job tasks, stay focused, and meet workplace expectations. Shifts typically run 2–4 hours, though coaching shifts across the company can range from 2–8 hours depending on the client’s schedule.

For these specific openings, the Job Coach will pick up the client, transport them to work, stay for the shift, and transport them home. In most other cases, coaches meet the client directly at the workplace.

Where Clients Work

Our clients are employed at a variety of businesses, including:

• Walmart
• McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King
• Grocery stores
• Hotels
• Bowling alleys
• DMV offices
• Other local employers

Each shift looks different depending on the job site and the tasks required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site coaching, support, and redirection
• Help clients learn and complete job tasks independently
• Model appropriate workplace behavior
• Communicate with employers as needed
• Ensure clients meet workplace expectations
• Provide transportation when required
• Promote confidence, independence, and skill-building

Qualifications

• Dependable and punctual
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable transporting clients when needed
• Experience in human services, education, or caregiving is helpful
• ACRE or CESP certification preferred
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and active insurance required

Compensation & Schedule

• $22/hr
• Schedule varies based on client work hours
• Opportunity to build a full-time schedule
• Job Coaches may take on additional caregiving hours with clients throughout Cambria County and surrounding areas

Signing Bonus

• $333 after 90 days (minimum 20 hours/week)
• $333 after 6 months (minimum 20 hours/week)
• $334 after 1 year (minimum 20 hours/week)

Bonus not available for Residential Services or Relative as Provider (RAP) hires. Applicants must not have worked for Abound Health or its affiliates within the past 18 months.
