Home-Based Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Saturdays + Flexible Weekday Hours | $17–$19.50/HR

Abound Health is seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a friendly, verbal female client who lives at home with her aging mother. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, providing structure, and helping individuals thrive both at home and in the community.

About the Individual
The client communicates her wants and needs verbally and enjoys TV, swimming, word searches, space and history topics, and being friendly within her community. She benefits from support with emotional regulation, healthy routines, social engagement, and completing all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Consistency, patience, and gentle encouragement are key in this role.

Position Responsibilities
• Provide companionship and engage in preferred activities
• Support emotional regulation and positive coping skills
• Encourage healthy eating, movement, and daily routines
• Assist with all ADLs and ensure consistency in home and community settings
• Promote socialization and comfort interacting with others
• Maintain documentation as required
• Work independently while supporting the client’s goals

Schedule Needs
We are currently seeking:
• Saturday Companion Care: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Backup DSP: To rotate in as needed to support current staff and prevent burnout

Additional ongoing supports in the home include:
• Overnight Companion Care: Sundays, Wednesdays, Thursdays (9:00 PM – 8:00 AM)
• In-Home Community Support (IHCS): 32 hours per week
– Typically begins around 10–11 AM
– Shifts range from 4–6 hours, with occasional 8–9 hour shifts
– Hours vary based on DSP availability

What We’re Looking For
• A patient, reliable, and compassionate caregiver
• Ability to work independently
• Comfortable supporting emotional regulation and social engagement
• Valid driver’s license and active car insurance
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass background checks
• Physically able to assist with ADLs

Compensation
• $17.00–$19.50 per hour, depending on role and experience
• Weekly pay
• Paid onboarding and training

Experience
• 1 year of caregiving experience preferred
• Experience with I/DD support helpful but not required—training provided
